Came here for brunch on a busy Saturday morning. There is private parking as it's located in a small shopping area. For a party of 6 it was a 45min-an 1 hour wait. We ended up walking over to the lake nearby to stall and take some pictures. By the time we got back they were ready to seat us. Our waitress was super friendly and answered all our questions being that it was our first time. We were all a fan of their chicken fried steak! The cornbread waffle was just ok, but to be honest we were really happy with everything else we ordered. Everything came out nice and hot! We will be back the next time we're in South Lake Tahoe!

I heard from a client I should come here for Breakfast. We were seated within 10 mins from arrival. We share the country fried steak hash brown and scrambled eggs. I don't know what is the secret to their eggs but it's super fluffy. I definitely would recommend it!

Strictly based on my visit on 2/9/25. The wait was about 30 minutes for a table of 5 but it went by quick, as we grabbed a coffee at Free Bird Chai, which is the establishment connected to Red Hut Cafe. By the time our coffees were ready, it was time to get seated. The waiting area does have seats and has old retro decor which is neat. The interior of red hut cafe has a ski lift suspended in the air above the dining tables. There is a bar area and many tables for seating. The food is affordable and delicious here. Fluffy biscuits, fresh assortment of fruits, and a well done chicken fried steak! And the sodas.... the sodas here are served in old wide coke a cola cups which help air-ate the soda to make it taste better. Yes, the cup matters! There's a science behind it all. Our server was on point and kept the refills coming! Def will be coming back in the future! The wait is worth it.

Ok, Listen... I had the hash brown thing loaded with the breakfast meats and cheese and 3 eggs on top... Loved it! Sorry, I forgot what it was called. I really liked this place. Staff was welcoming. Defiantly gives the vibe of a Ski Town. When we return up here I will return for that dish. I may even stop on the way home. Update,. We went back again today. This will be our breakfast spot when visiting Tahoe!

Loved getting brunch here! Lots of fun things to look at on the walls and some history behind the business/building. I got a classic bacon eggs and hash meal with coffee and it made me full and happy.

Been coming to Tahoe every year my whole life and just went to the Red Hut for the first time this last visit. The food and service is good. Very busy breakfast place (just like everywhere else in South Lake Tahoe). I had the waffle combo - seeing the bit about it being their original recipe from however long they have had it made me really excited to try it. It was like a thin crunchy giant Eggo. Egg and sausage were good as expected. Husband had the French toast combo, it's a large serving of French toast, he was not able to finish it. He enjoyed it. We will come back next time we visit.

FOH did a great job on keeping the drinks filled, orders, etc. Inside was neat and clean, we were seated promptly. My first visit to this location. Had no idea it was the OG! Fries were great, side of Jalapeño bacon had a good taste, but really could have been better, it was limp/flacid. Needs to be at least half crispy. Peanut Butter Bacon Burger was good, but overcooked compared to what I ordered by a mile. Fresh produce, great buns, plenty of cheese, maybe just a lot less peanut butter so it doesn't cancel out the burgers taste. Just a thin spread will do!

This was my first time ever seeing this particular Cafe and while we were in Tahoe, we found three more so it must be a local chain. They had delicious Belgian waffles with pecans, baked into the bread and strawberries that were freshly cut on the top with whipped cream. Our service was very quick and I felt bad for the server because it seemed as if he was working all the tables on the front end and there was another server working the breakfast bar section. He was really quick and very attentive considering he had so many tables to wait on. I loved all the windows towards the exterior and there was a great view of the lake as well as the outside area. Our breakfast was filling and delicious! Not to mention the Chai was freshly made next door at the coffee shop! So I grabbed an iced chai with oatmilk as we left to explore The Lake! Hee:
